Ustad Amir Khan - Memoral Evenings with Ustad Amir Khan Saheb - A box of 4 cassettes released in India in 1989
Here a box of four cassettes with wonderful recordings from a private collection. These recordings were also released the same year as four LPs. Our dear blogger friend Bolingo posted them in mp3 format in 2010.
I discovered, and digitized, these cassettes some 20 years ago from a friend's collection. They were a true revelation and are my favorite recordings by the artist. The divine inspiration, tension and density of Amir Khan's voice throughout these four cassettes is pure bliss. Thank you for sharing these little-known wonders!
Truly generous of you...thank you so much...needless to say, I am a desperate fan of Ustad Amir Khan's singing and had even made a rudimentary webpage on Ustadji ... some twenty years ago I had seen this cassette set at HMV House in Bangalore and had cajoled a senior friend to buy it for me ... this set was the envy of my friends and I almost worn out all the cassettes ... I still have the set of 4 cassettes, but I dont have the means to listen to them now ... now I can ... I can't thank you enough for this gift ...
