My copy has the same black line on the label. I wonder what we are not supposed to read there! Btw. the tanseni bit in raag Madhuvanti is probably the use of the two ni's. Like the two ni's in Mian ki Malhar. Wonderful rendition. Hans Bosma; P.S. Thanks for the Uzbek music! This blog is getting richer and richer. Hope I can keep up myself!
Dear Hans, here the marker is not thick enough and one can read: Made in Gt. Britain. That's why most Pakistani LPs don't have the surface noise so typical of Indian LPs. Best
Thanks to the blog owner for sharing these rare collections. The maru bihag here is divine. Never heard another instrumental come so close to the raag's essence, in my humble opinion; it's unsurpassed save a couple of renditions by Munshi Razi in khayal.
I HAVE POSTED USTAD HAMID HUSSAIN KHAN'S PARTICIPATION IN A GHAZAL PROGRAM WHERE HE IS IN THE AUDIENCE AND USTAD RAIS KHAN IS SINGING IN 1978 AT OUR HOME IN NORTH NAZIMABAD, KARACHI.
YOU CAN HEAR HIM PRAISING THE SINGER AS HE WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT ROW. IF ANYONE WANTS TO HEAR IT THEY CAN VISIT MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL SIRMOOD1. THANKS
Dear Mahmood, of which one of the many Rais Khan posts you are talking? There are so many. By the way, the Aziz Ahmed Warsi posts are great. Thank you. Best
