Here we present the next in our series of MP3-CDs which our dear friend Danny brought a couple of years ago from Uzbekistan. This time an instrumental album by the greatest Uzbek instrumentalist of the second half of the 20th century: Turgun Alimatov, a Sato, Tanbur and Dutar player.
For more infos on the artist see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turgun_Alimatov
This CD also contains music by his student Abror Zufarov.
About him see: http://www.classicmusic.uz/Abror.htm
The CD contains six folders, three containing 39 tracks by Turgun Alimatov and three by Abror Zufarov.
In 1995 Ocora - Radio France published a CD by him which unfortunately is no longer available:
On her blog Zhuzhu posted a LP by him from 1982:

Thank you for another enlightening post. Both master and student are exceptional.
ReplyDeleteHi Tawfiq - thanks for this one & the Rasul-Qori one - especially that latter one, which I didn't have. Please feel free to publish any of the mp3-CDs I sent you a year or two back - on reflection, to do so is not going to hurt anyone's income in Central Asia as these discs are virtually impossible to find without travelling there!!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
David
Hi David, I completely forgot that you also kindly shared this one with me a couple of years ago (without the back cover though). For these posts I used the CDs which my friend Danny brought 2 or 3 years ago from Uzbekistan. He was so kind to let me have all his over 100 aquisitions from that trip for a couple of months. So I was able to make copies of all of them (or most as not all were interesting). I will soon continue to post more.
ReplyDeleteWow! 100 CDs - that is a real treasure hoard!!
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't seen it, check out Turgun Alimatov in action with Orifxon Alimaxsumov (I think) at youtube.com/watch?v=-28NGfATDuA.
David
Thank you for this wonderful sharing.
