  1. Thank you!

If you don't mind me asking, does "KF" record these radio broadcasts or does s/he obtain them from other people? I am just curious.

    Looking forward to hearing it!

  2. Dear Richard,
he is married to a lady from Delhi and spend for decades every year his holidays there. During these holidays he always recorded many AIR programs. Only in the last years he stopped doing this as the broadcasting quality became extremely bad so that the recordings are always full of disturbences.

  3. Very rare and valuable recordings. Its great to hear Moinuddin Saab outside of published labels. I'm so happy that you/KF saab preserved these recordings. Wont be surprised if All India Radio Archives has already lost/destroyed the original master tapes...

  4. Very interesting two performances by the Senior Dagars. My listing from the AIR archives does not have any performance of Yaman or Jaijaiwanti by the Senior Dagar Bandhu. I suppose these lists are not complete?

  5. Yes, it seems so. Though the Jaijaivanti is on the CD published by Akashwani.

  6. Did you think the two performances of Jaijaiwanti from the blog and on the Akashvani CD are the same? I had a good listen and it seemd to me that these are two different performances. Both have a sarangi accompaniement of course.

  7. Thank you Louis. I didn't compare them yet. I have also a Gunkali from AIR and didn't compare this one also not yet with the one on the commercial CD.

  8. Is this 'list' the one found on the Prasar Bharati website? If so, that list is fairly out of date, and wasn't complete even when published.
The performances shared here are not the same as those found in the Akashvani Sangeet CD.
Tawfiq Saab - It would be really great if you could also share with us the Gunkali of the Senior Dagars....
    Many many thanks!

  9. Tawfiq, will you mind asking KF what are some channels and timings to record AIR from in Delhi. I am here for some time. when I was here years ago, I used to find programs much easier. are the National Programs of Music still being broadcast? when and where? thanks

  10. KF told me that he stopped recording when in Delhi already many years ago, as there are now too many disturbences in the broadcasts. The National programs still exist. There is an AIR internet radio channel which broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week classical music: Hindoustani & Carnatic and two hours of devotional music per day. The name of the channel is Raagam. You get it here:
    http://allindiaradio.gov.in/Default.aspx
The schedule you cane see here:
    http://www.airbengaluru.com/cue-sheets/raagam-2/
On the first link choose Raagam and you have it. On some of the other channels there you can get other classical programs, but I didn't check it yet. So you have to find out yourself.
