If so, that problem was fixed in a new CD issued in around 2009 or 2010. I can tell you with authority that the master tape is still there in HMV Saregama's Kolkata studio (with one damage which I had "fixed" in the CD reissue).Abhimonyu Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08397447686674896236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5951570112842053779.post-5569129164886894252017-03-20T04:09:34.033+01:002017-03-20T04:09:34.033+01:00Every time I feel I know a little bit about music,...Every time I feel I know a little bit about music, I come across somebody like you whose vast knowledge, generosity, enthusiasm, and eclecticism remind me how much I still have to learn and experience. My guess is that someone in Kolkata has that master tape in their collection of tapes, and when they die the collection will be thrown away.

The act of copying and disseminating written texts from the years 500 BCE - 1500 CE allowed the ideas and histories of the ancient Greeks and Romans to survive. A similar process is occurring today, but now it is audio recordings which are being preserved.
